So now you draw them directly in Animate instead of importing from Photoshop? Very nice look to them, very... dunno, very bitmap. Does not look like hard cold vectors at all.
That's right - I used to import a lot of textures into Flash to get this look, but I am finding the blur effects in Animate are far superior. As yet, I haven't imported any textures
I will post a screen capture of the BGs before they are rendered with the Effects so you can see how initially crappy they look!
That's awesome.

I'm having problem, composing scenes in TB animate. It's pretty easy in Flash CS4, do you have any tips?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean by 'composing scenes'?
ReplyDeleteDrawing an entire background.. . kinda like yours.
ReplyDeleteFurther more am having problem, importing .swf,.ai and pdf files. If you could shed some light i'd be grateful.
ReplyDeleteNice. would these lighting effects also affect character layers in front of the bg?
ReplyDeleteThe affects are assigned to each INDIVIDUAL LAYER (each background element - outline, woodgrain, shadow, etc - is on a separate layer)
ReplyDeleteCharacters are always on their own layer.
